Mirror glass tealight holder with depth effect, 18 x 18 x 20 cm

A tealight holder in mirror glass, a lantern on a black painted wooden base. Put a few little candles in it and you see hundreds: the mirror glass bounces the flames off each other deep into the glass. That effect makes an impression, on a laid table and in a dark room.

Dimensions and material

• 18 x 18 x 20 cm
• Mirror glass with a black painted wooden base
• Cut-outs to put the candles in easily
• Loose base

How the effect arises

Mirrored surfaces facing each other bounce an image back and forth, and each reflection lies a little further away. The flames you see in the depth are therefore the same little candles, only many reflections away. That is why a handful of candles looks like a sea of light.

The loose base

The base stands separate of the glass. That way you can easily light or replace the little candles, without having to reach through a narrow opening with a long lighter.

Where it goes

On a dining table, a sideboard, a coffee table or a windowsill. The effect is strongest in a subdued space and fades in bright ceiling light. Put it at eye level or just below, because you need to be able to look into it to see the depth. Thanks to the compact size it also fits on a laid table where plates and glasses still have to go.

Safe use

Use tealights in a cup. Never leave burning candles unattended and do not put the holder near curtains or other flammable things.

Care

Clean the glass with a slightly damp cloth and then rub dry, because streaks show up in a mirror straight away. Wipe the wooden base with a dry cloth.
