What a large mirror does

A mirror of this size reflects the light and makes a room feel more spacious. Next to or opposite a window it brings in extra daylight. In a dining room, above a sideboard or in a long hallway it adds depth to a space that might otherwise feel a little cramped.

Where it hangs

In the living room above a sideboard, in the hallway where you take one last look at yourself before leaving, or in the bedroom and the dressing room. Think beforehand about what the mirror will reflect: a window, a handsome cupboard or a plant works better than a door or a messy corner.

Styling

A large mirror needs calm around it. Keep the wall itself simple and let the mirror be the centrepiece. It suits a classic interior with warm wood tones, but also a sleek, modern one. A lamp or a few candles nearby give a soft, warm glow in the glass in the evening.

Hanging

Use fixings that suit your wall and a mirror of this size, and preferably hang it with two people. With a depth of 9 cm it stays close to the wall.

Care

Spray glass cleaner onto a soft cloth and not directly onto the mirror, so that no moisture runs along the edges. Dry with a dry, lint-free cloth.
