A-quality zebra hide, softly tanned, approx. 3 x 2.50 m

A zebra hide of about three metres long and two and a half metres wide, supple and softly tanned. The black and white pattern runs across the whole hide and makes it the centre of the room straight away. Every hide is marked differently, because stripe patterns are individual in zebras.

Origin and certificate

A certificate number comes with this hide. The certificate confirms that the zebra was legally and humanely put down in a protected park in South Africa. The proceeds of the hides are used for the upkeep and conservation of the park. Zebras are not a protected species. Feel free to ask for the certificate when you come to look at the hide.

Where it goes

On the floor in a seating area, over a large sofa, or on the wall. On the floor it needs room: three metres is a lot, and a hide that creeps up against furniture legs loses its shape. On the wall it works best on a plain, muted background, fixed at the top edge so the rest hangs free.

Care

Beat it out regularly or vacuum carefully with a soft brush head, in the direction of the hair. Never clean it wet and never in the washing machine. Dab stains straight away with a dry cloth, working outside in. Do not leave it in constant direct sunlight; that turns the black bands brown. For a thorough clean a leather specialist is the way to go.

What else there is

If you are looking for something softer and smaller for over a chair or at the foot of a bed, look at the sheepskins. They come in brown and in white with brown.

After delivery or after moving it, let it lie flat for a day before you lay it for good, so any folds settle out. Do not iron it and do not use a heat source to speed that up.
